I don't notice any differences in tonality, but it is naturally black instead of stained black. Therefore you don't wear it away to raw wood close to the headstock playing the "cowboy" chords. I've had a few acoustics that have had that problem :(

The cherry sunburst finish is a laminate, they did that back in the day to hide blemishes but, kept doing it because of popularity regardless of quality. The neck is mahogany as well barring the ebony fretboard.

The polynesians did carry all the animals and plants to populate a new island on catamarans. so while the story of noah is complete crap some elements maybe true.
